TIP Programme

29th December 2015

The Berks & Bucks FA has recently been awarded a licence to deliver a Disability Football Talent Identification Programme, which will give young people aged 12 – 16 the opportunity to progress and play regional and national levels. Over the past few seasons work has been done to ensure that each local area has inclusive teams for individuals with disabilities to participate in football, however we are now working to ensure that talented players have the chance to fulfil their potential and play at the highest level possible.

The Talent ID Programme will begin with an England Talent Day (Trials) in February, which will be followed by a 6 week training programme (1 x 90 minute session a week) to determine what level the player should be signposted to. The programme will be delivered by highly qualified coaches, and individuals with the following impairments will be eligible to attend the trials;

– Amputtee

– Blind

– Cerebral Palsy

– Deaf (Female & Male)

– Learning Disability

– Partially Sighted

Our biggest challenge is ensuring we make as many people aware of this programme as possible, and then identify suitable individuals to attend the trials. We have a number of people who are supporting us in identifying and referring players, but in order to reach as many different areas as possible we do need support in promoting this. There are numerous ways in which individuals and groups can support.

The talent day trials will be on Saturday the 13th February at Bisham Abbey

If you would like further information, or are interested in supporting the programme then please do get in touch.

Kind Regards
